PCDC Pre-Care Instructions

Proper preparation before your PCDC (Liquid Lipo) appointment helps ensure a safe experience, reduces risk of bruising and swelling, and enhances your contouring results—please follow these guidelines carefully.

2 weeks prior to your appointment

Avoid blood thinners (like aspirin, fish oil, vitamin E) for at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

Stay hydrated with ample water intake and let your provider know about any recent surgeries, dental work, skin breaks, or antibiotics.

3 days prior to your appointment

Stop taking ibuprofen, Motrin, or Advil 3 days before your session.

24 hours prior to your appointment

Avoid alcohol and smoking for 24 hours before your appointment to minimize bruising and facilitate healing.

Day of your appointment

Arrive with clean skin, no lotions, oils, or makeup applied to the treatment area, and eat a light meal before your appointment.

Take an antihistamine such as Claritin, Zyrtec, or Tylenol before your appointment to reduce swelling and discomfort.

PCDC Post-Care Instructions

After your treatment, attentive post-care supports smoother recovery, reduces discomfort, and helps optimize the fat-dissolving effect—please pay close attention to these instructions for your best results.

First 24 hours after your appointment

Use a cold compress for 20 minutes at a time and take Tylenol every 4–6 hours to help with redness, swelling, bruising, or tenderness.

Avoid touching, rubbing, scratching, or picking the area for at least 8 hours post-treatment.

For 48 hours after your appointment

Sleep with your head elevated for the next 2 nights to help with swelling.

Refrain from exercise or strenuous activity for at least 48 hours, including hot tubs and saunas.

For up to 2 weeks after your appointment

It is normal to experience swelling, redness, bruising, numbness, pain, or firmness (induration), which may last up to 2 weeks.

General Upkeep

Continue staying well-hydrated and gently protect the treatment area from trauma, heat, and sun exposure until healing is complete.
