Thank you for choosing The Palm Medspa + Wellness for your treatment. To help you achieve the best results and minimize risks, we’ve outlined important pre-care and post-care instructions for hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
Every treatment is unique, and your provider may give you additional personalized recommendations. Please review the guidelines carefully before and after your appointment. Following these instructions will:
Enhance the effectiveness of your treatment
Support your body’s natural healing process
Reduce the likelihood of complications or side effects
If you have any questions before or after your treatment, or if you experience anything unexpected, please don’t hesitate to contact our office. Your safety, comfort, and results are our top priorities.
Preparing thoughtfully for hormone therapy allows your provider to personalize treatment, reduce side effects, and set you up for the healthiest and safest results—please review and follow these guidelines as you begin your care.
2 weeks prior to your appointment
Discuss your full medical history, current medications, allergies, and recent lab work with your provider to ensure hormone therapy is appropriate and safe.
Begin adopting healthy lifestyle habits (balanced diet, hydration, adequate sleep) to support your overall hormone balance and treatment success.
Plan any required timing changes, such as transitioning from oral to transdermal (for HRT) or scheduling a procedure when you are not acutely ill, as advised by your provider.
1 week prior to your appointment
Complete all lab work or medical evaluations prescribed by your provider so results are ready before therapy begins.
Avoid non-essential anti-inflammatory medications (ibuprofen, aspirin), blood thinners, and certain supplements (fish oil, vitamin E) unless directed otherwise, as they may increase bruising risks or interfere with your care.
Shave and clean the expected treatment area if undergoing hormone pellet or injectable therapy, per provider instructions.
Day of appointment
Wear loose, comfortable clothing suited for the delivery method (easy access to upper buttock/hip for pellets or injection, or arm for blood draws).
Eat a light meal beforehand to help prevent dizziness or lightheadedness during in-office therapy.
Tell your provider about any last-minute illness, medication change, infection, or allergic reaction before starting treatment.
After your hormone therapy session, adhering to post-care instructions supports optimal healing, minimizes complications, and helps you experience the positive benefits of your treatment—careful attention to these steps is essential for your best outcome.
24 hours after your appointment
Follow your provider’s site care instructions after pellet or injection therapy, such as keeping bandages intact and applying ice to reduce swelling if directed.
Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, or soaking (baths, pools, hot tubs) for 24–48 hours to allow proper site healing.
Watch for symptoms like redness, fever, or significant pain at the treatment site and report these to your provider.
2-7 days after your appointment
Continue protecting the treatment site as advised (keep bandage on, avoid friction or excessive movement); remove bandages per scheduled instructions.
Monitor your response to therapy, noting symptom changes, side effects, or concerns so you can communicate with your provider at follow-up.
Gradually return to full activity as instructed, usually within one week for most patients.
2 weeks after your appointment
Attend your scheduled follow-up to discuss your therapy response, review lab results, or make any necessary adjustments with your provider.
Continue to track symptoms or side effects and contact your provider promptly if you notice any ongoing issues (mood changes, unusual bleeding, persistent pain).
Maintain healthy routines and do not stop or adjust your hormone therapy without professional guidance.
