HydroFacial Pre-Care Instructions

Following the steps below prior to your treatment will help you achieve optimal results and minimize side effects.

2 weeks prior to your appointment

Avoid injectables, laser procedures, or aggressive skin treatments in the area for two weeks before your facial. These treatments can stress the skin and interfere with the procedure, potentially impacting results or increasing sensitivity. If you plan to have injectables, they can be done on the same day as your facial, but only after your treatment to ensure optimal results and skin safety.

72 hours prior to your appointment

Discontinue the use of exfoliants and retinoids at least three days prior to your appointment. These products accelerate skin cell turnover and can make your skin more sensitive, which may lead to irritation during the facial. Allowing your skin to calm beforehand helps the treatment work effectively and reduces the risk of discomfort.

48 hours prior to your appointment

Avoid sun exposure for 48 hours before your treatment and be sure to wear a broad-spectrum SPF. Sun exposure can make your skin more sensitive and increase the risk of redness, irritation, or post-treatment pigmentation. Protecting your skin beforehand ensures a smoother, safer treatment and better results.

HydroFacial Post-Care Instructions

For the best results and to keep your skin calm and healthy after your facial, it’s important to follow these recommendations:

Immediately after your appointment

Be diligent about applying sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher every day, choosing one that contains active ingredients such as zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. After a facial, your skin is more vulnerable to UV damage, and sun exposure can compromise your results. A mineral-based sunscreen helps protect your refreshed skin and preserves your treatment benefits.

For 24 hours after your appointment

Avoid heavy exercise, strenuous activity, saunas, and hot showers for at least 24 hours after your treatment. Heat and sweat can irritate freshly treated skin and may contribute to inflammation or breakouts. Keeping your skin cool and calm will support the best results.

For 48 hours after your appointment

Refrain from using any physical or chemical exfoliants on the treated area for at least 48 hours. Your skin has just been deeply cleansed and resurfaced, and additional exfoliation could cause irritation, redness, or sensitivity.

For 72 hours after your appointment

Do not apply topical retinoids for 2 to 3 days following your facial. Retinoids are very active ingredients that can make the skin more reactive, and using them too soon may cause peeling, dryness, or discomfort. Waiting a few days ensures your skin barrier has had time to restore itself.
